In 2012, the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the TAU Sackler Faculty of Medicine launched a joint program for collaborative research, training and education to address children’s health and development. Children are more vulnerable to malnutrition, obesity, infectious diseases, and common modern diseases such as asthma and inflammatory bowel diseases than anyone would have believed even a generation ago. Asthma and IBD have reached epidemic proportions. Scientists and clinicians at both CCHMC and Sackler are involved in multidisciplinary research that encompasses neuroscience, developmental biology, human genetics, cancer, hematology and immunology to help combat pediatric diseases.
